WHO WE ARE
Jean-Marc Cuvilly's career in finance spans over twenty years in fixed income, investment banking, real estate, and private equity advisory. His experience includes positions at JP Morgan where he focused on sovereign debt, and at Merrill Lynch where he advised clients on raising private equity capital.
Jean-Marc has worked with public pension funds, endowments, foundations, and family offices to structure private equity portfolios. He has analyzed companies in various sectors, including manufacturing, finance, retail, agriculture, and services. He has worked with an international client base of investors within both established and emerging markets, in the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
In addition to his work on Wall Street, Jean-Marc has been active on various non-profit organizations. Among these, was his tenure as board chair of VCG Governance, an organization dedicated to improving governance in non-profit organizations; and as board member of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development, whose mission was to bring private investment to Haiti.
Jean-Marc received his A.B. in Economics from Princeton University and an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA. Originally from Haiti, Jean-Marc attended the American School in Port-au-Prince and later moved to the U.S. to pursue his university degree. He is fluent in English, French, Spanish, and Creole.
Michelle Jean, is a social impact entrepreneur with over 20 years’ experience as a hospitality operations executive and business development. During her tenure in hospitality operations, New York Magazine and the New York Times named her as one of the most influential female operators in NYC, which garnered the attention from the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone (under Mayor Bloomberg) to partner with the city of NY to develop its first hospitality casual dining + fast casual restaurant as a teacher training program in Harlem that was voted Top 50 Places by Conde Naste Traveler.
Later Donna Karan contracted her as the Head of Business Development for Urban Zen/ SWS. She and Ms. Karan launched the Haiti Initiative that resulted in a strategic partnership with Republic of Haiti. She went on to work for the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) as their in-country collaborative strategic partner for the development of a $30M micro-park for the purposes of impact investment; subsequent the World Bank Trade-Competitiveness to launch a $10M agro-business development sector for the export specialty food and beverage market.
In addition, she co-founded the Root Project initiative with the Pan-American Development foundation and has served as treasurer and board of directors of the Wayuu Taya Foundation founded by UN Goodwill Ambassador, which helps to improve the lives of Latin-American indigenous people. She received a B.A in Economics and International Relations from Connecticut College and M.A from Isenberg School of Management, UMASS Amherst. Michelle is first generation Haitan-American and is fluent in English, French, conversational Spanish and Creole.
